Polar Husky

Over a thousand images of Arctic scenes, dogs, natives, and explorers are posted here as the Polar Husky expedition team and their dogsleds traverse the Arctic. Classrooms are invited to take part in the adventure through journals, videos, live chats with scientists and educational activities described in a free, downloadable curriculum providing many ideas for transferring polar science to the classroom.

Activities: This website has easy-to-use activities based on planning an expedition, climate change, seasons, animal populations, oil exploration, natural resources and sustainable development with ideas for interdisciplinary connections.

To learn all about the true traditional Inuit Sled Dog, please visit The Fan Hitch http://homepage.mac.com/puggiq/, Journal of the Inuit Sled Dog International (ISDI). Also available from the ISDI, US Division, is “The Inuit Dog: Its Provenance, Environment and History”, the only scientific publication of its kind which thoroughly explores all about this primitive breed. http://homepage.mac.com/puggiq/V9N1/V9,N1Thesis.html
