Sea Ice Physics and Ecosystem eXperiment (SIPEX)
Apr 7, 2008 | Run Time: 07:09
Schools from all over the world were able to participate in the Sea Ice Physics and Ecosystem eXperiment that took place September-October 2007 and follow the adventures of 45 scientists, 2 Tasmanian school teachers and a stuffed polar bear named Polar Knutsen. We talk with Sandra Zircus, Communications Manager for the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Cooperative Research Centre (ACE CRC) about this International Polar Year event and the online resources that will enable teachers and students to share in this expedition. A special thank you to the students at Rosetta Primary School in Hobart for providing such great photos of Polar Knutsen for us to use.
