About IPY.org

IPY.org is a free, independent, non-commercial educational site about the polar regions and the International Polar Years.

This site and the International Polar Year

From 2007 this address hosted the website of the International Polar Year 2007–2008. The site was rebuilt in November 2026 with new content. It is not the website of any International Polar Year office, science council or government, and does not speak for them. For official information about future Polar Years, follow the organisations named on IPY 2032–2033.

Old documents

Reports, presentations and other documents from the 2007–2008 site remain available at their original addresses as historical material. Old page addresses lead to the new page on the same subject.
