The aims of AntonyJinman.com are three-fold:
To promote Education through Expedition
To report credible eye witness accounts of climate change
To promote sustainable technology for the future.
"Through exploring remote locations around the world I aim to highlight environmental issues within the classroom. Expedition takes us to places that few people have been to. To travel to a place and experience such environments first hand is so much more powerful than reading a textbook in a classroom. Through use of film and photography I aim to share these experiences, to educate and inspire. "
These photographs were taken by Antony on his Polarventure expedition in March 2008. The expedition travelled to Baffin Island with the aim of witnessing how climate change is affecting the Inuit way of life. Its additional aim was to attempt a first British crossing of the Penny Ice Cap. The expedition was immensely rewarding and certainly had its difficulties.
Antony is already putting together follow up expeditions to film the Inuit and his winter and summer crossings of Baffin Island next year. These short films will help to show the issues facing the Inuit and show what expedition life is like. The films will then be used to further aid Antony’s continual schools outreach project here in the UK and on Baffin Island.
If you are a teacher or member of the public and would like to learn more about Antony’s talks, then please feel free to contact Antony through his website.
Here is a PDF of his expedition report.
